About Nicole

nicole bailey portlandNicole Bailey is a Minneapolis-based speaker, facilitator and public health advocate, focusing on the areas of food insecurity, prevention, alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) prevention and youth development. Throughout her career, Nicole has explored many new opportunities for personal and professional growth, and has developed a strong background in grant writing and program planning, implementation and evaluation. She is particularly interested in issues related to substance abuse prevention, health disparities, food security, homelessness, positive community norms, healthcare policy and coalition building.

Nicole has worked as an AODA prevention specialist for an urban school district in southeastern Wisconsin, and also served two terms in the AmeriCorps national service program, working closely with three different Drug Free Communities coalitions. Over the years, she has logged more than 4,000 volunteer hours.

Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Studies from Portland State University and is now pursing a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota. She currently resides in Northeast Minneapolis.
